    Skateboarder’s beanie

I don’t know where I copied this pattern from, I do know it was on a blog that I was reading about crochet.  But I decided to try and crochet it and if it turned out okay send it to my friend in Colorado who is a skateboarder.  It turned out a little big but it did fit an adult head.  I guess I’ll have to make it smaller for a teenager.
This is my daughter modeling it.  It looked better on her when she folded the brim a bit.  I made it using Caron’s Simply Soft yarn.  Kinda cute huh?  The beanie that is.

pompom makers are in from Japan

My friends daughter went to Japan to visit her school’s sister school and stayed for 10 days.  I asked her to get me the pompom makers from Clover that I wanted, gave her some left over Yen that I had from my Japan trip and hoped for the best.  Well, she found it.  I did give her a picture from the web and when she showed it to her hosts, they knew exactly what she wanted.  So now I have all sorts of sized and need to play with them a lot, not sure how many wraps to do yet.
