    More photos

Just thought I would post a photo of my work, I don’t actually do that anymore but I do watch, inspect, and tell them what I want. This was overtime work at night.

    Remodeled bathroom!

We got a contractor to redo our old, original, 30 year old bathroom. You could tell how old it was by the color and type of tub tiles. For the cost of it we sacrificed buying a used car. Actually we weren’t in the market for a used car but we could have for the price. In all fairness my friend says that since they promised it in 7 days, that is what you are paying for. So we got a new bathroom in 4 days, yay! And since that was the only bathtub, 4 days of showering in a makeshift outdoor shower tent (with warm water) was hitting the limit! This is the old one.

And this is the new one!

I love it! The best part is that without the tub, there is so much room. Everything looks so bright, white and clean. It was painted white, the tile was a tanish color, and the counters light. But I remembered that white means a clean slate and, accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!

Just a bright shower curtain helped plus I plan on putting some posters and paintings on the walls. Just love it.

We also got rid of a linen closet that opened in the hallway but took lots of space in the bathroom. Removing the closet allowed for a bigger doorway and a roomier entrance.

The inside is nice and roomy and the corner allowed for small shelf.
My husband took the bifold doors from the outside closet and installed them to hide the small shelves in the bathroom. It turned out great! And it was totally worth the price of a new second hand truck!

    My purple water lily!

It’s been 2 years since my water lily bloomed. Then just one day I see something peeking through the surface of the water and recognized it as a bud! And not only one but 2 buds. As soon as it came, it bloomed, and it went. Can’t wait till they bloom again, hope it’s earlier than 2 years!

    Cookie butter!

Saw this in this mornings paper, how to make your own cookie butter, which is all the craze now! Think I will have to try this, that is if I can find the Biscoff cookie.

    Now toy

Just got this envelope maker from Stampin Up. First of all, it’s compact, easy to use and makes notches and round the points, making the envelope look cleaner, less home made.

Second is that I can order Stampin Up stuff without even having a party! This is huge! And I have found a wonderful Stampin up lady! Her name is Dawn and her website is Dawns Stampin Thoughts.
The price is the same and I still have to pay for shipping but now it comes right to my door, this is huge!

    Anyway, I’ve been making envelopes!

Now I need to send more cards. Or, I can use Christmas paper and make envelopes for Christmas cards! Hmmm, now where is my Christmas wrapping stuff??

So Sandy, what’s been going on these 2 years?

Got this set of drawers that was connected by a countertop from my friend who was cleaning her moms house. Fit it into my grandsons room and it looks really good, especially after we took out a bunch of mismatched furniture, cleaned, cleaned, cleaned and positioned it to fit. Looks so much better!

I’m back at WordPress blogging, tried Blogger and it was pretty and all that but was so darn difficult to maneuver. Just want to post stuff and add photos so back to this site.

    Chinese yo yo

Went to the Chinese Acrobats at the Hawaii Theatre, Kawika insisted on getting this, like the ones the acrobats used on stage. Took him a while to get the hang of it but finally did it!

    Potato Baking Bag Project

This is the kit, all you do is sew!

Jill and I went to the Hawaii Woman Expo last month. We had so much fun there,  I bought a kit to make a microwave potato bag from The Calico Cat ,  a quilt store in Kaimuki. This is the first time I ever heard of this project so I was intrigued.  I sewed it up just in time for my mom’s birthday gift. She loved it and she had never heard  anything like it either!

Now, I had to investigate this further. I looked up the Warm Company site, where the fabric and instructions in the kit came from, they had everything about the potato bag and even instructions .I started looking at all the potato baking bag sites. I found a site, PotatoBakingBag.   I watched the whole video and thought it was so cute that he and his wife had this site and that his video was so quaint.  Now I was intrigued that I never heard of this before. Especially reading that  people have been making these for years, some 10 years, and selling them at craft fairs.

I bought some cotton batting, cotton muslin and cotton “local style” prints (from Walmart) and made my very own Microwave Potato Baking Bag . I washed the bag and baked my first potato. It cooked in 4 minutes! Moist and delicious! And no pricking the skin!. That’s when I decided to make this a project for Christmas gifts!
I did alter the design to make it a mini bag and used my serger and sewing machine to make a quick easy gift.
